MediaWiki

Install and operate MediaWiki on a Control PHP Site with managed MariaDB.

MediaWiki is available from Applications → Install Application. Control prepares the PHP Site and managed MariaDB database used by the wiki.

Create a wiki

  1. Select MediaWiki from the application catalogue.
  2. Choose the Site/domain and HTTPS option.
  3. Enter the wiki name and first Administrator username and password.
  4. Review the plan and start installation.
  5. Open the finished Site and sign in with the Administrator account you created.

Manage and protect your data

Wiki pages, database contents, uploaded files and configuration belong to the Site. Include the Site and its database in your backup and recovery plan.

Updates

MediaWiki updates are operator-managed. Before upgrading, create a useful backup, review MediaWiki's compatibility requirements and check any installed extensions. Control does not silently replace the application files.

If the wiki is not reachable

Check the Site state and application result first. If only HTTPS is pending, confirm DNS and certificate status in Control before changing MediaWiki itself.
