DNS records

Create and change the structured DNS record types supported by Control.

Control manages DNS records as structured entries rather than as a raw zone-file editor.

Supported record types include A, AAAA, CNAME, NS, MX, TXT, CAA and SRV.

Add or change a record

  1. Open DNS and select the zone.
  2. Add a record or open an existing supported record.
  3. Enter the record name, type, value and any type-specific fields.
  4. Review the change and save it.
  5. Allow time for DNS caches and provider propagation before treating a change as globally visible.

A Site hostname and a DNS record are separate things. Attaching a hostname to a Site does not automatically create an A, AAAA or CNAME record, because Control may not know which public address or provider policy you intend to use.

For Cloudflare zones, records that Control does not support remain untouched. For native zones, Control validates the zone before applying changes.
