Components

Install supported hosting capabilities through Control instead of typing arbitrary package names.

Components shows hosting capabilities Control can install or detect on the supported operating system.

Groups include web components, runtimes, data services, DNS, mail, security and containers.

Installing a component makes its feature available. Some features still require configuration before they are active.

Runtime connectors

Database client support is separate from the database server. For example, PHP Sites need the appropriate MySQL/MariaDB or PostgreSQL connector before the application can use an attached managed database.

Docker and Docker Compose make container Site runtimes available. Individual applications/stacks are then managed through Sites and Applications.

Mail components

Control Mail uses supported Postfix, Dovecot and Rspamd components. Installing them prepares the host services; it does not by itself create Mail Domains or mailboxes.

Components required by an active Control-managed workload are protected from removal until that dependency is removed.

Service-backed components

Where a component includes a host service, Control checks that the service is usable after installation. A component that has been explicitly disabled is not silently re-enabled just because the package is installed.

Commercial Pro

Reseller & Subscriptions is an optional paid first-party component. Activate Commercial Pro with the shown-once code created from the licence in Control Accounts, then install the component from Server → Components → Commercial.

Certificate DNS challenge support

Wildcard Let's Encrypt certificates need DNS-01 support. Control can install the supported Cloudflare DNS challenge dependency when you choose automatic Cloudflare DNS validation. Manual DNS challenge does not require Cloudflare.

Uninstall

Components that can be removed safely expose Uninstall. Removal is refused while a Control-managed workload still depends on the capability. Control does not blindly remove unrelated packages.
