Mail

Host mailboxes, manage Mail Domains and publish deliverability DNS safely.

Mail records where email for each Mail Domain is hosted and shows the readiness Control can verify.

Each Mail Domain is either Internal (hosted by this Control server) or External (hosted elsewhere).

Internal Mail Domains

Internal hosting provides mail transport and mailbox access through the installed Mail components. Open Manage to create mailboxes, change passwords and add aliases/forwards. Control is the mail server/mailbox manager; it is not a webmail client.

Bind a Mail Domain to a Site

A Mail Domain can be independent or Site-owned. Primary Site domains and genuine attached subdomains can be selected. Conventional www. web companions are not offered as Mail Domain candidates.

When you choose a Website Binding, that hostname becomes the Mail Domain. An independent Mail Domain uses the editable Domain field.

Deletion follows ownership

Remove Mail Domain removes that domain's mailboxes, aliases and Control-managed Mail DNS before removing the Mail Domain itself. Already-absent DNS records do not block deletion.

A Site-owned Mail Domain is removed automatically when its owning Site is deleted. A stale Site link whose Site no longer exists is treated as orphaned state and can be cleaned up.

Mail access

  • SMTP TCP/25 receives server-to-server mail.
  • Submission TCP/587 is the normal authenticated sending service.
  • IMAPS TCP/993 provides encrypted mailbox access.

Use the mailbox Connection details with a standards-based desktop, mobile or application mail client. Use the full mailbox address as the username.

DNS and deliverability

Control shows the MX, SPF, DKIM and DMARC records expected for an Internal Mail Domain and observes provider-owned reverse DNS/PTR separately.

When Control manages the DNS zone, Publish DNS can replace conflicting Mail DNS after explicit confirmation. Existing external Mail DNS is never silently overwritten just because a Mail Domain exists.

Readiness

Check Ports verifies the mail services Control can test from the host. DNS, provider firewalls and PTR remain external dependencies and may need separate action.
