Application private data

Understand retained provider data when removing a managed application.

Some managed applications keep important private state outside their public application files. Control exposes that storage only when it belongs to a known application lifecycle.

While the application is installed

Generic file actions protect application-owned private data. Use the application lifecycle rather than deleting private runtime state underneath a live application.

Delete Application and Data

This is the default destructive application deletion. It removes the application and its recorded application-owned private data.

Remove Application, Keep Data

Choose this only when you deliberately want the application removed while retaining its private data for reinstall or recovery. Retained data is shown separately from the active application.

Delete retained data

Use Delete Retained Data when preserved application-private data is no longer required.

Site-owned data

Managed SQL, Site-owned SQLite and managed Redis/cache attachments are Site data resources rather than application-private data. Deleting only the application does not silently delete independent Site data. Deleting the whole Site removes resources that are owned by the Site.
