Native BIND DNS

Use native BIND when this server will be authoritative for the zone.

Before creating a zone

Install the DNS component from Components, make the server's authoritative DNS ports reachable, and configure the domain's nameserver delegation at the registrar.

Create the zone

Open DNS, create a native zone and add the required records. Control validates the zone before applying changes.

Changing a Site in Sites does not automatically invent DNS records. Keep DNS changes deliberate so the zone remains understandable and does not overwrite unrelated records.

For DNSSEC, follow the separate DNSSEC guide after the unsigned zone works correctly.
