Use Security to protect the server and its Sites. Host firewall, IP bans and Site web filtering solve different problems.

Before changing firewall rules

Keep an independent SSH session open and confirm your management and application ports. An incorrect rule can lock you out of the server.

Site protection

Enable Site request filtering gradually and inspect its reports if a legitimate request is blocked. The presence of a security component does not mean it is enabled for every Site.
