Independent databases

Create a database that remains independent even when attached to a Site.

Independent MariaDB/MySQL and PostgreSQL databases are created from the Databases workspace.

Each database receives its own application login. Control does not expose database root/superuser credentials or a general browser SQL console.

Connection

Select Connection to view the managed endpoint, database name and dedicated username. An Administrator browser session can explicitly select Reveal credential when the application password is needed for a manual integration. The reveal is audited and the password is not shown in ordinary database-list responses.

The standard managed endpoint is host-local. Revealing the credential does not make MariaDB or PostgreSQL remotely reachable and does not change firewall or database-listen policy.

Explore

Select Explore to inspect the managed database's schemas, tables, column metadata and limited pages of rows. Exploration is read-only and is intended for inspection and troubleshooting rather than free-form database administration.

Attach to a Site

Attach an independent database to a compatible running Site when the application needs it. Attachment supplies the Site with the managed connection details but does not transfer database ownership.

For PHP Sites, Control checks the matching database connector before attachment. MariaDB/MySQL uses the PHP MySQL/PDO package and PostgreSQL uses the PHP PostgreSQL/PDO package; a missing connector can be installed through Components and the normal server-side operation flow.

Lifecycle

Detach the database before deleting it or before deleting a Site that still depends on it. Independent database backup schedules and recovery points continue separately from Site backup policy.

Credential rotation updates the managed database login and attached Site connection information together.
