Site lifecycle and deletion
Understand Site deletion, recovery and archived Site history.
A Site's lifecycle includes its applications, runtime settings and data. Read the confirmation carefully before deleting a Site.
Delete a Site
Delete Site removes the Site and resources it owns, such as Site files, application data, Site-owned data services, SFTP access and scheduled jobs. You do not normally need to delete each owned child resource separately.
Independent or shared resources are handled according to their own ownership and dependency rules. If Control requires an independent database to be detached or another dependency to be resolved, follow the message shown before continuing.
Protect data first
Check the Site's backups or create a recovery point before a destructive operation when one is offered. Removing a Site and its data is not the same as disabling it.
Archived Site history
Control can retain an archived record after a Site is removed. A hostname becomes available for reuse when the live Site no longer owns it. Archived history can be forgotten separately when the interface permits it.
