Site databases

Understand SQL, SQLite, Redis and application-owned data attached to a Site.

A Site can use Site-owned SQLite or MariaDB data, an attached independent managed database, Redis cache, or a database included with a managed application.

View Site data

Open Server → Databases → Site Data Attachments or the Site workspace. The listing shows each Site's available database and cache connections, including application-owned data services where relevant.

Add a Site database

For an eligible PHP, Node.js or Python Site that does not already have a database, open the Site's database action and choose:

  • SQLite — creates a Site data database file.
  • MariaDB · Site-owned service — creates a MariaDB service dedicated to that Site.

Adding a database does not replace or migrate existing SQL. Configure the application to use the connection Control provides after creation.

Independent managed SQL

Under Server → Databases, you can create a separate MariaDB or PostgreSQL database with its own generated credential, then attach it to a compatible Site. The database remains an independent managed resource and should be detached before deleting the Site.

Application databases

Some applications, especially multi-service container applications, include their own database service or SQLite data. Those resources follow that application's Site lifecycle rather than appearing as casually detachable independent databases.

Browse and recover data

Select Explore for databases that support read-only browsing. For backups and restore, use the Site or database recovery option appropriate to the resource. Confirm the restored application's data as well as the operation result.
