Runtime migration

Runtime migration changes an existing Site to another compatible runtime version or provider without asking you to type an arbitrary version number.

Available targets

Control offers only target versions or providers it has detected as available on the host. The current version is not offered as a migration target. If no alternative is installed, prepare the required version from Components first.

Before migrating

Create or confirm a useful recovery point, check application compatibility with the target runtime and review any application-specific migration requirements.

Apply the migration

Open the Site's runtime controls, choose the target, review the preflight and start migration. Control applies the supported runtime change and verifies the Site afterwards.

A runtime migration is not an application database migration. Follow the application's own upgrade instructions where its code or data schema also needs to change.
