Environments

Assign one Environment to each local Silo and create custom Environments when needed.

Environments provide a simple way to describe the operational stage of each local Silo.

Built-in Environments

Bridge includes Production, Staging, Development and Test. These built-in choices remain available for every Host.

Assign an Environment

Choose the Environment while creating a Ready or Unconfigured Silo, or change it later from Bridge → Sites → Silo Control Centre. A local Silo belongs to one Environment at a time.

Create a custom Environment

Open Bridge → Targets and add a custom Environment when the built-in choices do not describe your workflow. Use a short, clear name that other Host administrators will understand.

Use in Policies and Deployments

Choose an Environment as the Target when a Policy Baseline or Change Set should apply to every Silo currently in that Environment.

Removing a custom Environment

Move its Silos elsewhere and update anything that still uses it first. Bridge prevents removal while the Environment is still in use.
