Route and 404 problems

Check content routes, redirects and hosting paths when a page cannot be found

A 404 can come from a missing Micro CMS route, an old external link or a hosting path that never reaches the intended installation.

Check the content route

Open the Page or Post in Admin and confirm its current public route. Preview the content to make sure the destination itself renders.

Check Redirects & 404s

If the old address used to be public, add a direct redirect to the current destination. Do not redirect random scanner URLs or spelling mistakes that nobody actually uses.

Check recent moves

If many unrelated routes started failing after moving the site, confirm the configured public address and the host's root/subdirectory routing. A broad path problem is not solved by creating dozens of redirects.

Check Navigation

Update menus and internal links to point directly to the new destination so visitors do not have to pass through the redirect.
