Analytics

Use Overview, Traffic, Content, Audience and Search reporting while keeping Analytics collection and privacy choices under control.

Analytics provides first-party reporting for traffic and content performance while keeping collection controls in the Analytics settings.

Reporting views

Use Overview for the main performance summary, Traffic for visits over time and acquisition, Content for page performance, Audience for session and device patterns, and Search for visits that actually arrived from search engines.

Main metrics

The primary metrics are Views, Sessions, Views per Session and Average Engaged Time. Where a comparable previous period is available, Analytics can show the change alongside the current value.

Traffic and acquisition

Traffic reporting groups visits into useful sources such as direct, search, social and referral. Use these groupings to understand how people reach the site rather than treating every referrer as a separate headline metric.

Content and landing pages

Content reporting helps identify which pages receive attention and which pages act as entry points. Use the selected reporting period when comparing performance.

Audience

Audience reporting is based on sessions and available device information. It does not claim to identify a durable unique person where the collected data cannot support that conclusion.

Search

The Search view reports search referrals that reached your site. It is not a replacement for a search-engine webmaster or Search Console product and does not report impressions, rankings or searches that never resulted in a visit.

Settings and privacy

Collection settings remain subordinate to reporting. Respect Do Not Track and administrator exclusion where configured, and use Privacy Settings when optional Analytics requires visitor consent.
