Requirements
What your server and browser need before installing Micro CMS.
Micro CMS is intended to run on ordinary PHP hosting. Check the server basics before you upload the package so setup is not interrupted by a missing PHP feature or an unwritable folder.
Server requirements
- PHP 8.1 or later.
- PDO SQLite for the standard installation.
- ZipArchive for ZIP package installation and full backup workflows.
- A web server that can serve PHP normally over HTTPS.
- Enough disk space for the site, Media and backups you plan to keep.
Write access
The PHP user must be able to write to the Micro CMS data area and the configured Media location. If setup reports that either location is not writable, correct the hosting permissions before continuing rather than repeatedly submitting the installer.
Database choices
SQLite is the normal starting point and needs no separate database account. Standalone installations can later move supported data areas to MySQL or MariaDB from Site Settings. Bridge Hosts keep local Silos on their supported isolated storage and do not use the standalone database-migration screen.
Browser support
Use a current version of Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari for Admin. JavaScript and cookies must be available for sign-in and the interactive Admin screens.
