Micro CMS Migration Bridge

Install the temporary WordPress plugin, create a migration token and remove it after cutover.

Micro CMS Migration Bridge is a temporary WordPress plugin used while WordPress Importer reads an existing WordPress site.

Install the plugin

  1. In WordPress Admin, open Plugins → Add New Plugin.
  2. Choose Upload Plugin and select the approved Migration Bridge ZIP.
  3. Install and activate it.
  4. Open Tools → Micro CMS Bridge.

Create a migration token

Choose a short lifetime that comfortably covers the current migration session and generate the token. Copy it when shown and keep it private. If the migration continues later, create a new token rather than leaving a long-lived connection open unnecessarily.

Connect from Micro CMS

Use the normal public WordPress site address and the token in WordPress Importer. If the WordPress site redirects between www, non-www or another domain, use the address WordPress itself treats as the normal public site.

Rotate or revoke

Generate a new token when the existing one should no longer be used. Revoke the token immediately when the migration is finished or abandoned.

Remove after cutover

Once the Micro CMS site has been verified and the source connection is no longer required, revoke the token, deactivate Migration Bridge and remove the plugin from WordPress.
